Seven No-Cook Recipes That Keep the Oven Off in June
This is your sign to turn off the stove and oven and make time for play.

When it's really hot out, the last thing I want to do is cook over a hot stove. So when June rolls around and the random sporadic heat waves kick in, I start plotting for outdoor adventures and searching for recipes that don’t require the stove or oven.
If you’re sticky, sweaty and fast approaching hangry, here is a roundup of delicious, nutritious recipes that don’t require an oven.
New Name and New Faces
I think we can all agree that the year 2025 has been a year of significant change, encompassing shifts in economics and societal values. Just when I said I couldn’t take anymore, I was threatened with a trademark lawsuit for using the name “On The Grow.”
Like many of you, I had to put on my big girl panties, push through the fuckery, took a deep sigh and re-envision my company’s future and name. On The Grow is now Grow On The Go. Same venture and cause, just a new name.
In addition, I have enlisted some help. Capri Kasai will be my partner in crime this summer and helping at the Garden of Hope. Capri is a gardener and multi-disciplinary artist based in Los Angeles. Their land work centers California native plants, fruit trees, and edibles. This southern-midwesterner loves to read too many books at once, sew badly, and stop and smell literally every flower.
Words, songs, inspiration, and lessons I saved, read, wrote down, and savored last month.
